Ypbpr to HDMI only
This is a component to hdmi converter.The input is Ypbpr component and the output is hdmi.You can not connect a video source with HDMI port such as PS3 to a TV with component port.
Not work with composite input
The HDmatter's component to hdmi converter does not support composite in.If you are connecting a composite video source to the input, you will either get a white&black screen or there is no video at all.
Cables requirements
Pls uses qualified component and HDMI cables to pair the video source and Display. Sync problem such as flickering and signal drops are mostly caused by poor cables.
Gaming console
If you are going to use the converter with gaming console such as PS2,PS1,Xbox, pls make sure your gaming component cable is well shielded and earthed. 99% of the gaming component cables are junk, they are not earthed and shielded at all.
When pairing with those poor cables, there might be no video at all.. or the video will drops.. this is not the problem of the converter but the cables.
Does not work with blu ray disc
When playing Blu-ray Disc with your DVD player or Av receiver, there wont be video.. But just black screen.
Video quality
The component to hdmi converter is mainly designed to use elder devices with ypbpr port only but your latest tv comes with no ypbpr port.
It can not improve or scale the video quality. In my personal point, under quite some cases, it degrades the video quality.
Audio Problem
1)The HDmatters' component to HDMI converter supports Digital coaxial and L/R stereo audio input.If there is no audio over hdmi,you can press the D/A button to switch the audio input.
2)The Component to HDMI converter only takes PCM 2CH Audio either from coaxial or the L/R audio input.If you are using the digital coaixal audio input,pls set the audio mode to PCM 2CH,otherwise,there will be no audio over HDMI
