Oil painting pen maintenance
(3) Method of thorough cleaning
Squeeze the bristles with your fingers or rotate them in the palm of your hand.
After washing with clean water, straighten out the bristles of the pen, and wrap the pen with a slightly harder piece of paper for storage for future use. When cleaning the brush, use appropriate force, otherwise it is easy to hurt the brush hair. The soap solution used must be weak alkali soap (there is a special brush cleaning soap abroad) to prevent the brush hair from hardening. Silk wool detergent can be used, and paint thinner must not be used. It will make the pen hair brittle due to the loss of oil. The shortened oil painting pen is usually discarded. If the metal hoop is heated on the fire and the brush hair is pulled out a little without changing the shape of the brush hair, the service life of the brush can be prolonged. The brush is cleaned every time, and then it is placed in the brush curtain of the rolling pen.
